FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Region’s Largest Book Festival to Feature Local Women Authors
Beaver, Pa. (15009), August 9, 2017 — Celebrating its eighth year as the region’s number one literary festival, Beaver County BookFest is back and better than ever.
BookFest 2017 will take place Saturday, September 9, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the charming and historic town of Beaver, Pa.
A “celebration of reading, writing, and the arts” — BookFest has grown into one of the largest and more popular literary festivals in the state, attracting participants and attendees from across the country.
BookFest will kick off on the evening of Friday, Sept. 8, during a ticketed fundraiser event inside the Author Tent along Market Street in Beaver. Attendees will enjoy food and refreshments as they listen to a Women’s Author Panel featuring local writers Linda Au (lindamau.wordpress.com), Wende Dikec (wendedikec.com) Kara Knickerbocker (karaknickerbocker.com), Madhu Bazaz Wangu (madhubazazwangu.com), and Pamela Hart Vines (pamelahartvines.com).
BookFest’s Main Event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 9, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Here, attendees can meet more than 70 authors who will be signing and selling their books both inside and around the Author Tent. The festival will also feature a number of food vendors and literary-themed retail vendors.
This year in the Children’s Tent, wannabe wizards can take part in the BookFest Wizardry Academy, where they can create their own magic wands, create potions, and much more.
“This is always one of Western PA’s best festivals of the year,” says Valentine J. Brkich, BookFest Committee member. “This year we’re excited to have our first ever women’s author panel for our Friday night wine-and-cheese fundraiser. And, of course, with dozens of authors signing copies of their books, the main event on Saturday always draws a big crowd.”
Beaver County BookFest is a non-profit event made possible by PUSH Beaver County. Additional support comes from PACyber, the Fort McIntosh Foundation, and RBC Wealth Management. There is no charge for admission. Other pertinent information can be found at BeaverCountyBookFest.com and on the festival’s Facebook page.
